An autopsy will be performed tonight on the body of a Yokena man who died Sunday evening after an argument that may have involved some fighting, Sheriff Martin Pace said.
William R. McCurdy, 29, 40 Galey Drive, was dead on arrival at River Region Medical Center early this morning. The time of death was 12:04, Warren County Coroner John Thomason said.
Mr. McCurdy had been involved in a verbal argument with another man, and it may have involved “some physical confrontation,” Pace said.
An initial examination didn’t show any injury, Pace said.
After the argument, the man collapsed at about 11 p.m. Family members performed CPR until paramedics arrived.
“We are proceeding as with any other death investigation,” Pace said.
No charges have been filed in the case.
After the autopsy at Mississippi Mortuary Services in Pearl, the body will be released to Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah, Thomason said. Funeral home officials said arrangements were incomplete.
