Smith easily captures Junior Championship|[7/14/05]

St. Aloysius golfer Chase Smith shot a 74 on Wednesday to complete a two-round 143 to win the Clear Creek Junior Championship.

Smith shot a 69 on Tuesday and held a 15-stroke lead going into the final day. Cameron Miller shot back-to-back 84s to earn second place in the boys 14-17-year-olds’ division.

Chaz Fowler, earned first place in the boys 12-13-year-olds’ division with a two-day 91. Fowler played nine holes each day.

Fowler shot a 49 on Tuesday and came back with a 42 on Wednesday to defeat Lance Webster by 18 strokes.

Billy Boykin won the 10-11-year-olds’ division with a 119. He was the only participant in the event.

In the 9-under division, Conner Smith shot a two-day 91 to win his age group with ease. Gabe Stuckey finished second and Christian Gilbert third, both well behind Smith.

Kristin Boykin, the only girl to participate, shot a two-day 144 over seven holes each day to take the top prize.
