The Vicksburg Warren School District will not have any athletic events well into next week, athletic director Lum Wright Jr. said.

On Tuesday, Wright, along with local school officials, will evaluate the situation locally and statewide, and will try to reach a decision as to upcoming sporting events by Wednesday or Thursday.

Hurricane Katrina forced schools in Warren County to close until Sept. 6. Public school football games scheduled for tonight were pushed back at least one week by the Mississippi High School Activities Association.
