Chris Mixon ran for 88 yards and three touchdowns – all in the first four minutes – and Kenny Simms scored two touchdowns in a 56-0 demolition of Veritas on Friday night.

Mixon scored on runs of 46, 16 and 1 yards on PCA’s first three possessions, and Simms followed with a 13-yard TD run and a 48-yard punt return for a score as the Eagles built a 42-0 halftime lead.

&#8221We were very focused. We went over there and played a solid ballgame,“ said PCA coach Randy Wright, whose team did not throw a pass in the game.

Spencer Pell, Moose Carney and Sidney Meacham also ran for touchdowns, and Evan Rogers was a perfect 8-for-8 on extra points.

PCA’s defense did not allow a first down and held Veritas to minus-45 yards of total offense for the game.

The Eagles are scheduled to play Tri-County on Friday night with the District 4-A championship on the line. PCA defeated Tri-County last year to win its first district championship since 1982.
