Jennie A. Blake.

Jennie A. Blake died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006. She was 94.

Mrs. Blake was the daughter of the late William Cleveland Arnold and Ella Johnson Arnold. She was the widow of Harold M. Blake. A longtime resident of Scottsbluff, Neb., Mrs. Blake had been a resident of Vicksburg since 1992. She was a bookkeeper for the J.C. Penney Company in Nebraska for 40 years. Mrs. Blake was an active member of the Church of the Nazarene for 79 years.

She is survived by family members Chet Arnold and his wife, Marlene, of Bakersfield, Calif.; Jennie Lynne Palmer of Vicksburg; Shirley Ward of Casper, Wyo.; Gordon Wallace of New York, N.Y.; Letha Pearson of Littleton, Colo.; Doris Holt of Centersville, Ga.; Margaret Welch of Corpus Christi, Texas; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Blake was predeceased by a stepson, Leonard Blake; four sisters and two brothers.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Riles Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kuhrman Cox, pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial will be in Green Acres Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon Monday until the hour of the service.

Pallbearers will be Doug Palmer, Jeff Palmer, David Palmer, Tommy Palmer, Michael Goodin and Christopher Goodin. Honorary pallbearers will be Austin Palmer, Brandon Palmer, D.D. Brown and Roger Fillebaum.

Lilian M. Brock.

Lilian M. Brock died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. She was 99.

Mrs. Brock was born in Georgia. She is the daughter of the late Algernol Walner Mollner and Annie Elizabeth Woodard Mollner. She was the widow of B.J. Brock. Mrs. Brock was a retired secretary with the Mississippi River Commission, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Baptist Church.

Mrs. Brock was preceded in death by a son, William H. Brock; two grandchildren; two sisters and a brother.

She is survived by two sons, Carl M. Brock of Greenville, S.C., and Bradley L. Brock Sr. of Vicksburg; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and two nieces.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Christ Episcopal Church with Rev. Chan Osborn de Anaya officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Riles Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 today at Riles Funeral Home and at Christ Episcopal Church Monday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service. William H. Bunch Jr.

William H. &#8220Bill” Bunch Jr. died Friday, Jan. 13, 2006, at the University Hospital of Holmes County in Lexington. He was 65.

Mr. Bunch was a native of Vicksburg and a member of the Main Street Baptist Church in Goodman. He taught history and served as registrar at Holmes Junior College. He was Associate Executive Director of Program on the State Board of Community and Junior Colleges. He was also a legislative liaison for Gov. Ronnie Musgrove.

Mr. Bunch is survived by his wife, Linda Russell Bunch; a daughter, Lindy Bunch McCain, and husband Marshall McCain, of Goodman; a son, William H. &#8220Will” Bunch III, and his wife Jan, of Saltillo; his mother, Louise Newman Bunch of Vicksburg; and four grandchildren, Paul and Reese McCain and Russell and Annabell Bunch.

Services are 3 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Yazoo City. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation is noon Monday until time of service. Southern Lexington Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Sheila Walker New.

Sheila Walker New died Friday, Jan. 13, 2006, at her home in Bentonia, Miss. She was 57.

Mrs. New was a homemaker and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Marion Walker, and stepfather, N.W. Russell Jr.

Mrs. New is survived by her husband, Max New; her mother, Dorothy Russell of Bentonia; three sons, Glenn Myrick of Vicksburg, Allan Plotkin of Bolton, and Troy New of Bentonia; a daughter, Angelique Shorter of Florence; five grandchildren; a sister, Shirley McBlair of Bentonia; and two brothers, Glenn Walker of Bolton and Bill Walker of Kellogg, Idaho.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Stricklin-King Funeral Home Chapel in Yazoo City. Visitation will be today from 4 until 7 p.m. at Stricklin-King Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Larry Porter, Ricky Beliew, Trey McBlair, Michael Bradshaw, Kevin Porter, Roger Arnold, Chris Walker and John Fuller.
