Three people were killed and five others injured early this morning in a wreck involving four cars and three 18-wheelers on Interstate 20 near Bovina.

The pileup shut down eastbound traffic on I-20 for most of the morning.

Killed in the collision were James Andrew Carlisle, 20, McKinney, Texas; his passenger, Marcus Ryan Basye, 20, 142 Pinedale Road, Terry, Miss.; and Christine Jones, 54, 2252 Castle Hill Drive, Jackson, said Warren County Coroner John Thomason. All three were killed instantly, he said.

Five people were injured and transported to River Region Medical Center.
