Louise H. Brooks.

STARKVILLE – Louise H. Brooks died Saturday, March 25, 2006, at her home in Starkville. She was 83.

Born in Greenville, Mrs. Brooks was a retired executive secretary for the vice president, in the business affairs department, at Mississippi State University. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Order of First Families of Mississippi, Colonial Dames and First Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, L.E. Brooks; her parents, Virgil L. Harrington Sr. and Nora Tuttle Harrington; a son, John Richard Brooks; one sister, Anna Laura H. Adams; and one brother, Thomas Harrington.

Survivors include one daughter, Ann B. Williams of Covington, Tenn.; one stepson, Skuli R. Brooks of Garder, Iceland; one sister, Betty Norworth of Memphis; two brothers, Virgil L. Harrington Jr. of Newport Beach, Calif., and Robert T. Harrington of Mineola, Texas; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends in Vicksburg.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Welch Funeral Home Chapel in Starkville with Dr. Olin McBride officiating. Burial will follow at Oktibbeha Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 this evening at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or a favorite charity.

Pauline Judge Charles.

WALNUT, Calif. – Pauline &#8220Duck” Judge Charles died Friday, March 24, 2006, in West Covina, Calif. She was 56.

A graduate of Rosa A. Temple High School, Mrs. Charles attended Mississippi Valley State University.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Jeannette Judge; and three brothers, Melvin Judge, Freddie Judge and Clyde Judge.

Survivors include her husband, Lester Charles of Walnut, Calif.; three brothers, Joe Judge Jr. of Chicago, Edward Charles Judge of Inglewood, Calif., and Kenneth Judge of Jacksonville, Fla.; five sisters, Maggie Reese of Detroit, Clementine Jones of Saginaw, Mich., Sadie Judge of Carson, Calif., Rubye Judge of Lawndale, Calif., and Janice Wildee of Vicksburg; four grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Forest Lawn Mortuary in Covina. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Glennis L. Harris.

EDWARDS- Glennis L. Harris died Thursday, March 23, 2006, at her home in Edwards. She was 46.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Harris Sr.; and one brother, Roosevelt Harris.

Survivors include her mother, Addie Harris of Edwards; three brothers, John Harris Jr. of Westwego, La., Frank Harris of Aurora, Ill., and Elbert Harris of Marrero, La.; six sisters, Katherine Gilmer of Edwards, Pauline Jefferies, Gloria McKinney, Georgia Kinard, Annie Robinson, all of Aurora, and Ruth Johnson of Dallas; and other friends and relatives, including Robert Singleton of Edwards.

Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Millie W. Jones.

Millie W. Jones died Sunday, March 26, 2006, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. She was 93.

A homemaker, Mrs. Jones was a member of Jones Chapel M.B. Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Jones Sr.; her parents, Elijah Warner Sr. and Elizabeth Smith Warner; three brothers, Elijah Warner Jr., Albert Warner and Elias Warner; two sisters, Adline Everette and Corene Harrell; and one son, Essell Jones.

Survivors include four sons, Hamilton Jones and Edward Jones, both of Chicago, Lampton Jones of Munster, Ind., and Aaron Jones Jr. of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; five daughters, Dorothy Wilson of Washington, D.C., Katie Hendrix of Maywood, Ill., Velma Jones of Chicago and Erma Jones and Annie Jones, both of Vicksburg; three of seven grandchildren she reared; eight great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Ralph Duncan Sandifer.

OAK GROVE – Ralph Duncan Sandifer died Sunday, March 26, 2006, at West Carroll Memorial Hospital in Oak Grove. He was 95.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maryen Sandifer; his parents, Alexander Lomax Sandifer and Lou Vicy Sandifer; and three brothers, Charley L. Sandifer, Roy Sandifer and Ray Sandifer.

Survivors include three sons, Charles Sandifer of Memphis, Halbert Edward Sandifer of Oak Grove and Jimmy Earl Sandifer of Houston; one daughter, Fannie Pearl Hughes of Forest; one brother, Cecil N. Sandifer of D’Lo, Miss.; one sister, Fannie Woods of Water Valley, Miss.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Hill Baptist Church in Oak Grove with the Rev. Leslie Yates officiating. Burial will follow at Kilbourne Cemetery in Kilbourne under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Oak Grove.

Connie L. Ward.

Connie L. Ward died Sunday, March 26, 2006, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. She was 57.

She was preceded in death by her father, Buddy Singleton; her grandmother, Mary Branch; one brother, Howard Williams; one sister, Francis Turner; and her stepfather, Cary Flowers.

Survivors include one son, Brandon Ward of Chicago; one daughter, Valencia Bailey of Vicksburg; her mother, Carrie Ragan Flowers of Vicksburg; five brothers, Aaron Flowers, Tillman Flowers and William Ragan, all of Vicksburg, Jimmie Williams of Jackson and Louis Williams of Harvey, Ill.; one sister, Barbara Witchard of Little Rock, Ark.; two grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Robbins Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Heidi Stewart Whitley.

Services for Heidi Stewart Whitley will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Riles Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy J. Talbert officiating. Burial will follow at Edwards Cemetery under the direction of Riles Funeral Home in Vicksburg. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the hour of service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Whitley died Sunday, March 26, 2006, as a result of a traffic accident. She was 32.

Born in Vicksburg, Mrs. Whitley was the daughter of the late Dave M. Stewart Jr. and Carol Green Stewart. She attended St. Aloysius High School and was a member of Solid Rock Pentecostal Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Harvey Green; and paternal grandfather, Dave M. Stewart Sr.

Survivors include two daughters, Lauren Whitley and Lynda Whitley, both of Vicksburg; one son, Michael Whitley of Vicksburg; one sister, Barbara Samuell of Holly Springs; one brother, Dave M. Stewart III of Charleston, S.C.; maternal grandmother, Ann Green of Charleston; paternal grandmother, Dorothy Stewart of Vicksburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Dave Stewart III, Wesley Blair, Larry Montpelier, Terry West, Israel West, Joey Reynolds, Chip Whitley and Cayce Porter.
