CARTHAGE – Doreen E. Beard died Sunday, July 16, 2006, at her home in Carthage. She was 52.

A homemaker, Mrs. Beard was born and reared in Vicksburg. She had been a Carthage resident for the past 18 years. She attended Lighthouse Church of Carthage.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Justine Myrick; and a brother, Lester Myrick Jr.

She is survived by one son, Jason Beard of Denham Springs, La.; one daughter, Shannon Sullivan of Carthage; a brother, Charles Myrick of Nashville, Tenn.; a sister, Barbara Clemens of Coldwater; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be until the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be David Lee, Jordan Lee, Christopher Lee, Andy Myrick, Randy Myrick and Drew Burton.

Bobby Boyd.

TALLULA, Miss. – Bobby Boyd died Monday, July 17, 2006, at his home in Tallula, Miss. He was 66.

Born in Merigold, Mr. Boyd lived in Rolling Fork for 47 years and had been a resident of Tallula for the past six years. He was a retired carpenter and member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Tallula.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, John Andrew Boyd and Lela Mae Boyd; a daughter, Cheryl Boyd; and a brother, Billy Boyd.

Survivors include his wife, Sissy Boyd of Tallula; two sons, Josh Boyd of Madison and Greg Boyd of Cary; two daughters, Patty Sherrill of Vicksburg and Bobbie Catherine &#8220BobCat” Stephenson of Hattiesburg; one brother, John Boyd of Anguilla; five sisters, Ann McPhail of Tallula and Christine Beliew, Sue Golden, Betty Bishop and Shirley Nichols, all of Rolling Fork; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Glenwood Funeral Home in Rolling Fork with the Revs. Johnnie Sanders and Bryan Carruba officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home in Rolling Fork.

Pallbearers will be Stacey Bobo, John Reed Perry, Perry Boyd, Will Rutherford, Buford McPhail and Lonnie Boyd.

Donald Lee Cotton.

Donald Lee Cotton died Sunday, July 16, 2006, from injuries received in an accident. He was 3.

Donald was the son of Charles Lee Pickle and Angela Sanders Cotton.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Willard Sanders.

He is survived by two brothers, Jesse Daniel Sanders and Zachary Taylor Cotton, both of Vicksburg; a half-brother, Charlie Pickle of Vicksburg; three half-sisters, Monique Steed of Vicksburg, Christiania Louise Pickle Gray of Sturgis and Cheryl Nicole Pickle of Lexington; his maternal grandparents, Don and Grace Ford of Vicksburg; his paternal grandmother, Patricia Pickle of Starkville; and his paternal great-grandmother, Lucile Devine of Durant.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fisher Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

La’Darius Rae’Shod Lampton.

KOKOMO – La’Darius Rae’Shod Lampton, formerly of Vicksburg, died Saturday, July 15, 2006. He was 12.

Rae’Shod was a fifth-grader at Tylertown Upper Elementary and was a former student of Vicksburg Warren School District. He was a member of New Dimension World Church of Vicksburg.

He was preceded in death by grandmothers, Mae Jean Lampton, Mae Ola Lampton and Learh Hammond; and grandfathers, J.B. Lampton and Lem Hammond.

He is survived by his parents, Mary S. and Cornelius Anders; two sisters, Lagayshun S. Bowman and Cynthia Anders; grandparents, Hazel L. Lenoir and Julius Hammond; and aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at New Damascus M.B. Church, 279 Kokomo-Darbun Road, in Kokomo. Smith Funeral Home of Columbia is in charge of arrangements.

Charles James Ross.

Charles James &#8220Pipe” Ross died Monday, July 17, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. He was 60.

Mr. Ross worked at Coca-Cola Bottling Co. for 20 years and at Faulk’s Farm & Garden for 10 years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wesley Middleton; his mother, Beatrice Ross Young; his stepfather, Isom Young; and a brother, Altonia Davis Jr.

He is survived by two brothers, Tommy Lee Davis of Vicksburg and Lloyd Middleton of New York, N.Y.; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives, including members of the Ross, Davis and Middleton families.

Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Catherine R. Tucker.

LAKE CHARLES, La. – Catherine R. Tucker died Monday, July 17, 2006, at Willis Knighton-LSU Medical Center. She was 68.

A native of Vicksburg, Mrs. Tucker was the daughter of the late James T. and Catherine McGee Ryan. She was a 1956 graduate of Carr Central High School and received a degree in accounting and computer information systems from Sowela College in Lake Charles, La.

She had lived in Lake Charles since 1973. She was a homemaker and artist known for her Louisiana landscapes.

Mrs. Tucker is survived by her husband, Graham W. Tucker of Lake Charles; four daughters, Theresa Walker of Morristown, N.J., Catherine Hoover of Lake Charles, Patricia Ney of Friendswood, Texas, and Margaret Gillespie of Norfolk, Va.; and 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Yokena Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow at Yokena Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the church from 1 p.m. Wednesday until the service.

Pallbearers will be Bryan Russo, Kevin Gillespie, Zane Ney, Troy Hoover, Mikey Cain, Jason Shamsie, Brandon Ney and David Weathers.
