Kristen Casey Brooks.
LONGVIEW, Texas – Kristen Casey Brooks was born Aug. 28, 1987, in Vicksburg. She died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2006, at age 18.
In 2005, she graduated from Pine Tree High School in Longview, Texas, where she was a Globe Scholar and a member of Pine Tree Precision Drill Team, Z Club, the National Honor Society and Who’s Who Among American High Schools.
She attended Kilgore College as a freshman, where she was a member of Phi Theta Kappa and a President’s List Scholar. She attended Greggton Methodist Church in Longview, where she was active in GYM Project.
Survivors include her parents, John A. Brooks Jr., vice president of human resources at LeTourneau Inc. in Longview, and Lynda Brooks, English instructor at Kilgore College; one sister, Carley Cordell of Lewisville, Texas; one brother, Cole Brooks of Longview; paternal grandmother, Dorothy Brooks of Longview; maternal grandmother, Jean Gann of Vicksburg; uncles, Kenny Brooks of Longview, Don Gann of Clinton, Miss., and Donald Murray, of Shreveport; aunts, Dottie Murray of Shreveport and Melinda Gann of Clinton; cousins, Kelli and Michael Gann, Donna Voight, Chip Murray and DeAnn Jordan; and nephew Cadyn Cordell.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, John A. Brooks Sr., and maternal grandfather, Albert R. Gann.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. today at Rader Funeral Home’s chapel, 1617 Judson Road, Longview.
Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Greggton Methodist Church in Longview, in the Extreme Worship Center. Entombment will follow at Rosewood Park’s Chapel Mausoleum.

Robert Everett.
Robert N. Everett died Friday, Aug. 11, 2006, at St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital. He was 67.
Mr. Everett was born in Magee and had lived in the Jackson area 45 years. He was a retired maintenance supervisor with Cedar Chemical Corporation in Vicksburg and was a member of Covenant Christian Church, where he was a deacon.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley M. Everett of Jackson; one daughter, Rhonda Allen; one sister, Virginia Sullivan of Magee.; and one brother, Elmer Everett of Terry.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Covenant Christian Church in Byram. Burial will follow at Utica Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Monday at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Jackson and from 12:30 p.m. Tuesday until the hour of the service at the church.

Rosie Marie Selvy Shelby.
Services for Rosie Marie Selvy Shelby will be at 2 p.m. today at St. Mary’s Center with the Rev. Booker T. Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Church Cemetery in Bovina under the direction of Robbins Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. today until the hour of the service at St. Mary’s Center.
Mrs. Shelby died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2006, at her home. She was 53.
She was a former employee of Vicksburg Trace Haven for 27 years and served as church musician at area churches for 37 years. She was a member of Bethlehem M.B. Church.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Angela Michelle Adams; her grandmother, Laura Warren; and her grandfather, Leo Cage.
She is survived by two daughters, Gwen Shelby and Kayleen Lewis, both of Vicksburg; one son, Eugene Lewis of Vicksburg; her parents, Luther and Katie Selvy of Vicksburg; nine sisters, Mary E. Wilson, Minnie Selvy, Betty Allen, Laura Selvy, Algina Selvy, Katie R. Selvy, Mattie Selvy, Monica Hall Hudson and Willia Selvy, all of Vicksburg; three brothers, Henry Selvy, Luther Earl Selvy and Willie B. Selvy, all of Vicksburg; four grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
Ray White.
Ray White died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006, at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. He was 79.
A native of West Monroe, La., Mr. White had lived in Vicksburg since 1967. He was a retired wood yard operator at International Paper. He was a member of Vicksburg Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim M. White and Elizabeth White; and five brothers, Melvin White, Herman White, Thelber White, J.B. White and Tom White.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia R. White of Vicksburg; two sons, Bendel Ray White and Glenn Dale White, both of Vicksburg; three brothers, Henry “Bud” White of Ozark, Mo., Benny White of Bosco, La., and Wayne White of Junction City, Mo.; one sister, Lillian Cockrell of Bastrop, La.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday at Glenwood Funeral Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Glenwood Chapel. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.
Rachel Windmon.
Rachel Windmon died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2006, at Claiborne County Hospital. She was 93.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Caldwell and Martha Cathing; three sons, L.D. Windmon, Johnny L. Windmon and W.D. Windmon; and a daughter, China Wells.
Survivors include five sons, Isiah Windmon and Robert L. Windmon, both of Hermanville, Willie L. Windmon of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., John Windmon of Chicago, and Perry Howard of Biloxi.; a daughter, Mary J. Daniels of Sturtebant, Wis.; 40 grandchildren; and great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Jones Chapel Church in Carlisle, with the Rev. Johnnie Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will will be from 1 until 6 p.m. today at Thompson Funeral Home and from 1:30 until the hour of the service Monday.
