Larry Allen and the Laredo Broncos split the first two games of their United League of Baseball playoff series with top-seeded Edinburg, Texas.

Laredo won the first game on Saturday night, but blew a 7-0 lead on Sunday, eventually falling 8-7 in 10 innings.

Allen played at Warren Central and Grambling before a long career in the minors.

Following manager Dan Shwam’s departure for family reasons, Allen was thrust into a head coaching role for the independent league team.

Allen’s team has gone 12-6 since he has become the full-time manager.
