Mary Maxcine Hudson died Friday, Sept. 22, 2006, at Covenant Health and Rehab of Vicksburg. She was 62.

Mrs. Hudson was preceded in death by her husband; one son; her grandparents; and a brother.

Survivors include two sons, Sammy Wilkerson and Gregory Hudson, both of Vicksburg; three daughters, Bobbie Wilkerson Thomas, Sarah Wilkerson and Mary Ann Hudson, all of Vicksburg; her mother, Unzell Wilkerson of Vicksburg; six brothers, Selvin Wilkerson of Compton, Calif., R.D. Collins of Edwards, Guy Wilkerson of Jackson, Don Wilkerson of Indianapolis, Michael Wilkerson of Detroit and Auston Wilkerson of Vicksburg; four sisters, Linda Wilkerson and Debra Wilkerson, both of Abingdon, Md., Evelyn Williams of Vicksburg and Ceceil Louise Reese of Detroit; and other relatives and friends.

Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Annette Smith Laird.

TALLULAH – A celebration of life will be held for Annette Smith Laird, lifelong resident of Tallulah, at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Crawford Williams and the Rev. John Rushing will officiate, with interment to follow at Silver Cross Cemetery.

Mrs. Laird, a retired educator and homemaker, was born Oct. 11, 1933, and departed this life on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006, at the Madison Parish Hospital.

Mrs. Laird graduated from Tallulah High School, received a bachelor of science from Louisiana State University and a master of education plus 30 more hours from Mississippi College. She was a fourth-grade teacher and guidance counselor at Tallulah Elementary School.

She was preceded in death by her father, William A. Smith; a sister, Rita Ervin; and a brother, Edward A. Smith.

Her survivors are her husband, Robert K. &#8220Bob” Laird of Tallulah; her daughter, Debbie Lourens and son-in-law, Tony Lourens of Germantown, Tenn.; her mother, Myrtle B. Smith of Tallulah; and grandchildren, Colin L. Lourens and Tyler S. Lourens of Germantown.

Pallbearers will be Ira Archie Ervin, David Hugh Ervin, Wilton Shinall, Brian Moreau, Billy Querrey and George Shepherd.

The family requests that any planned memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Tallulah; St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 332 N. Lauderdale, Memphis, TN 38105; or to a favorite charity.
