Patricia Anne McGrew Oswalt.
CLEVELAND – Patricia Anne McGrew Oswalt, a former Vicksburg resident, died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2006. She was 53.
Mrs. Oswalt had also lived in Cleveland, Memphis and Biloxi.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church of Biloxi. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Friday at New Cleveland Cemetery in Cleveland under the direction of Ray Funeral Home.
James Chaffin Martin.
TALLULAH – James Chaffin “Boss” Martin died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2006, at his home in Tallulah. He was 77.
Mr. Martin was born in Ida, La. He retired from Louisiana State Police after 21 years as an officer. He worked for the concrete and construction business for many years. He served as pastmaster for Tallulah Lodge No. 308 and a 32nd-degree Shriner.
He is survived by two daughters, Barbara Faye Bartholomew of Tallulah and Beverly Ann Whitehead of Shreveport; two sisters, Elsie Harris and Virginia Holloway, both of Dallas; a brother, John Earl Martin of Tallulah; and three grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah, La. Burial will follow at Silver Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Calvin Desoto White.
PONTIAC, Mich. – Calvin Desoto White died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006, at his home in Pontiac, Mich. He was 51.
Mr. White was born in Redwood. He attended Warren Central High School and graduated from Alcorn State University.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard White Sr.; and a twin brother, Alvin D. White.
He is survived by his mother, Ardean R. White of Pontiac; one son, Calvin D. White Jr. of Pontiac; two brothers, Leonard White Jr. of Vicksburg and Ronney White of Atlanta; two sisters, Cornelia Johnson Sr. of Pontiac and Willette Barnette of Portland, Ore.; and other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 1 p.m. in Pontiac under the direction of Cobb’s Funeral Home.
