MOUNT DORA, Fla. – Ruth Mayo Sabol died Friday, Nov. 10, 2006, at Avante Medical Center in Mount Dora, Fla. She was 86.

Mrs. Sabol was born in Groton, Conn., and lived for many years in New Jersey before moving to central Florida in 1961. She was active in aviation at an early age and was one of the first female commercial pilots in the state of New Jersey.

She is survived by her husband, Donald Sabol of Mount Dora; sons, Bruce Sabol of Vicksburg and Tracy Sabol of Roseland, Fla.; and granddaughters, Emily Sabol of Vicksburg and Megan Sabol of New Orleans.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday at St. Edwards Episcopal Church in Mount Dora.

Floyd Sims.

Floyd Sims died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006, at his home. He was 72.

A native of Warren County, Mr. Sims was a retired electrician. He served in the Army and the Air Force for nine years and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Martha Sims Price; two brothers, McKinley Sims and Leroy Sims; and three sisters, Willie Sims Woods, Blanche Sims Williams and Clara Sims Smith.

Survivors include three sons, Gregory Slaughter, Michael Slaughter and David Hartman; four daughters, Patricia Parker, Belinda Slaughter Parker, Stephanie Sims Lang and Stephanie Slaughter; three brothers, Albert Sims, Fred Sims and Henry D. Price; three sisters, Gladys Sims Cross, Thelma Sims Dukes and Velma Sims Hardwick; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Eddie Mary Olivia White.

Services for Eddie Mary Olivia White will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Carmel Ministries with Evangelist Pamela King officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 until 6 p.m. Tuesday at Robbins Funeral Home and Wednesday at the church from noon until the service.

Mrs. White died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. She was 77.

Mrs. White was a member and mother at Mount Givens M.B. Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy White; her parents, Avie Parker and Eddie Myles; and her grandparents.

She is survived by five sons, Edward Myles of Birmingham, Ala., Robert White of Waukegan, Ill., Leroy White Jr. of Knobnoster, Mo., William White of Surprise, Ariz., and David White of El Paso, Texas; nine daughters, Bertha Brown, Alice Scott, Doris Bolden, Rebecca Young, Olevia White, Rita Hunter and Shelia Dillamar, all of Vicksburg, Rosie Elder of Waukegan and Pamela King of Columbus, Ga.; one sister, Maude Lee of Vicksburg; one brother, William Myles of Rancho Cacamonga, Calif.; 33 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
