Services for Gloria T. &#8220Cricket” Branche will be at noon Saturday at W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert L. Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Branche died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2006, at River Region Medical Center. She was 96.

A homemaker, Mrs. Branche was a member of Friendship M.B. Church in Edwards.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Branche Sr.; her mother, Emma McGowan; and a son, Windolyn Branche.

She is survived by a son, Virgil Branche Jr. of Chicago; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Carole Ingram Duncan.

ST. JOSEPH – Carole Ingram Duncan died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2006, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. She was 62.

Born in Atlanta, Mrs. Duncan was a resident of St. Joseph. She was a retired administrative assistant.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Duncan.

She is survived by one daughter, Christina Rushing of Brandon; two sons, David Duncan of Eros, La., and Steven Duncan of Brandon; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in St. Joseph with the Rev. Jonathan King officiating. Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the American Breast Cancer Foundation.

George W. Maples.

George W. Maples died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006, at his home. He was 86.

Mr. Maples was a Vicksburg native. He retired from Anderson-Tully in 1996. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Ellen V. Maples; and a sister, Rosemary Matthews.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel Allen Maples of Sparks, Nev.; one son, Thomas H. Maples of Vicksburg; one daughter, Mary Ellen Parks of Vicksburg; two grandchildren, Janice Huff of Brandon and John R. Parks of Vicksburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael Catholic Church with the Rev. P.J. Curley officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Glenwood Funeral Home with prayer service at 6:30 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Raymond Bradshaw, Michael Bradshaw, Squires Huff, Thomas Maples, Lyman Kirby, Keith Kirby, W.T. Walker III and L.H. Kirby.

Honorary pallbearers will be William Walker Jr., John B. Herrod, Sid Ponder, Dr. Daniel Edney, Dr. Murray Whitaker and employees of Anderson-Tully Co.

Memorials may be made to St. Michael Catholic Church.

Elsie Roberts Prescott.

SUMMIT – Elsie Roberts Prescott died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006, at her home in Summit. She was 73.

Born in Pike County, Mrs. Prescott was the daughter of Sam &#8220Bo Jack” Roberts and Isabelle &#8220Miss Belle” Furlow Roberts. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Wildwood Baptist Church in Laurel and attended Johnston Chapel United Methodist Church in Summit.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley Roberts; and four sisters, Velma Norton, Ruby Carroll, Alma Henley and Florence &#8220Kit” Harper.

She is survived by her husband, George L. Prescott of Summit; two sons, Wayne Prescott of Vicksburg and Stanley W. Prescott of Kent, Wash.; a sister, Helen Watts of Summit; four grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Johnston Chapel United Methodist Church with the Revs. Allen Dearing and Glen Martin officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at Jones Family Funeral Service in McComb and Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the service.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Harper, Buddy Watts, James Carroll, Robert Carroll, Edgar Norton and Eddie Joe Carroll.

Honorary pallbearers will be nephews.

Sharon J. Wright.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Sharon J. Wright passed away Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. She was 61.

She was a native of Vicksburg and lived in Murfreesboro, Tenn., for the past year.

Sharon retired as a legal secretary. She was a member of Gibson Memorial Church in Vicksburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Jean Simmons.

She is survived by Benjamin Wright of Florence; daughters, Elizabeth (Ian) Green of Lillian, Ala., Charlotte (Jeff) Lusk of Medford, Ore., and Robin Cunningham of Murfreesboro; aunt, Lillian Simmons; cousins, Judy and Robert Simmons; son-in-law, Heyward Cunningham of Murfreesboro; and grandchildren, Jennifer Lowe, Jason Lowe, Kayla Lusk, Colby Cunningham and Jessica Cunningham.

God truly received an angel.

A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Evergreen Cemetery with Dr. Lenny Farmer officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
