It came a few days after everyone else stopped celebrating, but the St. Aloysius Lady Flashes still rang in the new year with a party.

Taylor George scored three goals in the first half, and Haley Davis and Robin Cooper netted two apiece as St. Al routed Murrah 12-1 on Friday in its first game of 2007. St. Al (6-6-2) outshot Murrah 28-2 in the game and led 7-0 at halftime.

George started the goalfest 4 1/2 minutes in when she ripped a shot in from the right side for a 1-0 lead. She added another goal 14 minutes later and completed the hat trick with a breakaway at the 29-minute mark of the first half, a goal that made it 5-0. George also assisted Davis’ first goal with a blooped cross that Davis knocked into the net with her body.
