R.C. Fisher
KILGORE, Texas – Funeral services for Mr. R.C. Fisher, 79, of Kilgore, Texas, will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, 2007, in the Chapel at Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore with the Rev. Richard Emerson officiating.
Mr. Fisher passed away Monday, Feb. 5, 2007, in Kilgore.
Mr. Fisher was born July 24, 1927, in Charlotte, N.C., to Roy and Essie Fisher. First and foremost, Mr. Fisher loved his family and was loved by his family. In his early years he enjoyed golf, hunting, rock hunting and woodworking. In his later years he enjoyed attending his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and activities.
Mr. Fisher also enjoyed traveling. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He was a Mason and past member of the U.S. Power Squadron.
Mr. Fisher will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Mann Fisher of Kilgore; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Dennis Coulter of Vicksburg; three sons and daughters-in-law, Russell and Cristi Fisher of Hallsville, Texas, Randy and Rhonda Fisher of Gilmer, Texas, and Roger Fisher of Kilgore; sister, Ann Piel of Houston; sister-in-law, Ruby Fisher of Abita Springs, La.; grandchildren, Ryan Fisher, Reagan Y’Barbo and husband Cliff, Rance Fisher, Mackenzie Coulter, Roy Chase Fisher, Ralen Fisher, Reed Fisher, Ross Fisher and Carissa Fisher; great-grandchildren, Kadee Reese Y’Barbo and Ruston Kash Y’Barbo; as well as many other loving family and friends.
His parents and two brothers, Donald and Ralph Fisher, precede Mr. Fisher in death.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, American Kidney Foundation or the American Diabetes Association.

Mary Cecil Schmitt
SOUTHAVEN – Mary Cecil Schmitt died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2007, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto in Southaven. She was 76.
A homemaker, Mrs. Schmitt was born in Vicksburg to the late William Lee Jones Sr. and Avis Winona Cooper Jones. She was a member of St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Southaven.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Joe Schmitt of Southaven; one son, Gary Andrew Schmitt of Brandon; two daughters, Donna Curtis of Cordova, Tenn., and Diane Cullen of Little Rock, Ark.; one brother, W.L. Jones Jr. of Vicksburg; one sister, Beatrice Ransomer of Dayton, Ohio; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was at 11 a.m. today at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church. Inurnment was at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church Columbarium.

Tyler Aubrey Townsend
Tyler Aubrey Townsend died Monday, Feb. 5, 2007, at River Region Medical Center. He was 14.
Tyler was a student at Vicksburg Junior High School. He was a member of Bovina Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. Writing stories and drawing trucks were other pastime hobbies. He was a compassionate teenager who loved to encourage others and will be remembered for his thoughtful deeds.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles V. “Chuck” Townsend Jr.; and his grandfather, Charles V. Townsend Sr.
Tyler is survived by his mother, Michel Rowland Townsend and stepfather, Hearne Hathaway; two brothers, Zachary Rowland and Tim Townsend; a sister, Amber C. Townsend; grandparents, Buddy and Margaret Rowland and Margie Sasser of Edwards; aunts and uncles, Bubba and Donna Rowland, Sandra and Larry Oakes, Becky and Ken Chennault, Raye and Robert Reeder, David Townsend, Paul Townsend, Ann Ferrell and Vickie Hudson; and numerous cousins.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Fisher Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Chip Starnes and Ben Jernigan officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Thursday until the hour of service.
Pallbearers will be Caze Brewer, Brent Hopkins, Mike Grantham, Garland Cook, Gregg Dunn and Roy Landers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Mitchell, Ralph Landers, Mitch Oakes, Brian Oakes, Andy Oakes, Milli Jernigan Wolfson, Ben Jernigan, Jeff Jernigan, Cristi Wolfe, Nick Wolfe, Jay Rowland, Wesley Rowland, John Reeder, Sam Reeder and Alex Rowland.
