Three Vicksburg High soccer players, the Gators’ head coach and two Warren Central Lady Vikes were selected to play in the Mississippi Association of Coaches All-Star game on June 16 at Hinds Community College in Raymond.

Reigning Vicksburg Post Player of the Year Michael Cooper of Vicksburg High will join teammate Josh Dixon for the North All-Stars, who will be coached by Vicksburg head coach Jason Bennett.

The Gators reached the second round of the Class 5A state playoffs, losing to Clinton at Millsaps College earlier this month.

Holly Head, a starter for the Missy Gators since 7th grade, will be joined by Warren Central’s Mary Clare Scurria and Liza Kate Chaney for the North squad.

Brandi Head, Holly’s older sister, earned game defensive MVP honors at the 2003 classic.

The girls game is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. and the boys are scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m.
