Adeline Batchelor

TALLULAH – Adeline Batchelor died Saturday, April 7, 2007, at Madison Parish Hospital. She was 84.

Mrs. Batchelor was a native of Whittemore, Iowa, and had lived in Tallulah for 40 years.

Survivors include two sisters, Anita Hall of Alexandria, La., and Gertrude Paulette of Tallulah; a brother, Clement M. Dahlhauser, of Tallulah; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be later with Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in charge.

Shirley M. Everett

BYRAM – Shirley M. Everett died Thursday, April 5, 2007, at Willow Creek Retirement Center in Byram. She was 73.

A Jackson resident for more than 40 years, Mrs. Everett was a charter member of Covenant Christian Church and was retired from BellSouth. She was a member of BellSouth Pioneers and loved going with her husband, Robert, to their farm in Utica. She loved to crochet, cook and especially loved her pets.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Ruby McCann; and her beloved husband, Robert N. Everett.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Mike Allen; a sister and brother-in-law, Freddie and Danny Key; an aunt, Edna Wooley; a niece and nephew-in-law, Susan and Gordy Hawkins; a great-niece and nephew-in-law, Chelsea and Casey Brannon; and a great-nephew, Wesley Harkins.

Services will be at Covenant Christian Church on Davis Road in Byrum at 10 a.m. Monday followed by a graveside service at Utica Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home on High Street in Jackson and Tuesday at 9 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
