A Vicksburg teen involved in an accident at a lake in Openwood subdivision has died, said Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey.

Sylvester Romeo Walker, 18, 1108 Farmer St., died Thursday at University Medical Center in Jackson. Huskey said he died from cardiopulmonary arrest, a result of a freshwater drowning.

The day of the accident, May 25, Walker reportedly jumped into the water from an aluminum boat. A passenger in the boat, several Openwood residents and Warren County sheriff’s deputies brought Walker to shore, and emergency medical officials resuscitated him at the scene.
