Robert Earl Laird Sr.
BOGUE CHITTO – Robert Earl Laird Sr. died Sunday, June 3, 2007, at his home in Bogue Chitto. He was 58.
Mr. Laird graduated from Copiah-Lincoln Junior College with a machinist degree. He retired from South Central Bell.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Luther and Lilly Laird and Ira and Julia McClelland.
He is survived by three sons, Robert Earl Laird Jr., Brian Robert Laird and Braden Earl Laird, all of Bogue Chitto; one daughter, Jenny Lynn Hynum of Vicksburg; his father, Earl Higdon Laird; his mother, Ada Bell McCullough; three brothers, Roger Dale Laird, Wilfred Laird and Willie B. Laird, all of Bogue Chitto; four grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and a special friend, Norma Jean Whitley of Tallulah.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Community Funeral Home in Brookhaven.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Vicksburg Harley-Davidson riding group.
Memorials may be made to the Natchez Children’s Home.
Jamie Lynn Lee
Jamie Lynn Lee died Sunday, June 3, 2007, at River Region Medical Center. She was 28.
Miss Lee was of the Baptist faith. She was a former employee of Taco Bell.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Samuel Lee and Estelle Lee; and her maternal grandfather, Alzonia Baxter.
She is survived by her parents, James Lee and Georgia Baxter Lee of Vicksburg; two sisters, Sharon Gidron and Alicia Lee, both of Vicksburg; and her maternal grandmother, Georgia Baxter.
W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Frank Crawford Sanders
UTICA – Frank Crawford Sanders died Saturday, June 2, 2007, at the Mississippi Veterans Home in Jackson. He was 74.
Mr. Sanders was retired from the National Park Service at Rocky Springs. He was a veteran of the Army and a member of Utica Baptist Church.
He was a hunter and fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John H. Sanders and Lucy Crawford Sanders; and a brother, Joe Sanders.
Survivors include his wife, Una L. Sanders of Utica; two sons, Henry Sanders and Wayne Sanders, both of Utica; two daughters, Julie Greenman of New Jersey and Frankie Riley of Norfolk, Va.; two brothers, Robert Sanders of Vicksburg and Edward Sanders of Jackson; three sisters, Eunice Sanders Wagner of California, Ruby Carroll of Jackson and Lorraine Elmerick of Raymond; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Utica Baptist Church with the Rev. Ben James officiating. Burial will follow at Utica Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at Glenwood Funeral Home in Utica.
Pallbearers will be Carl Flowers, Ronnie Crawford, Phillip Hogan, Benji Crawford, Danny Bell, Glen Bell and Britt Mitchell.
