Full set of events set for Fourth celebration in city |[06/29/07]

Thursday’s Willie Dixon celebrations kick-started a week of festivities in Vicksburg.

The City’s Fanfare for the Fourth Celebrations will begin Sunday with the God and Country Show at First Baptist Church.

On Independence Day, Beatles tribute band The Liverpool Legends will take the Depot Stage. They will be followed by the traditional City Front fireworks show.

In the days leading up to the Fourth, various events will be staged at the Vicksburg National Military Park.

The Willie Dixon tribute jam session kicked off the Smithsonian exhibit New Harmonies: Celebrating American Roots Music at the Southern Cultural Heritage Center, which will remain open and free to the public through Aug. 9.
