Organizers of Ole Miss’ annual Rebel Reunion all-star party today in Jackson believe the crowd could reach 1,500 at the Mississippi Trade Mart in Jackson.

With all four of the school’s highest-profile coaches planning to attend, it could be one of the biggest preseason events ever.

Football coach Ed Orgeron, men’s basketball coach Andy Kennedy, women’s basketball coach Renee Ladner and baseball coach Mike Bianco are scheduled to speak tonight in Jackson for the alumni association’s annual gathering.

Last year, only Orgeron and then-women’s coach Carol Ross spoke at the party and attendance dipped to around 800, Sam Farrington III, president of the Jackson alumni chapter told The Clarion-Ledger newspaper.

The Rebels will not be the only school to have their annual parties this week. Southern Miss and Mississippi State will have their parties scheduled for Thursday. Southern Miss supporters will gather at the Trade Mart, while Mississippi State fans will gather at the Mississippi Coliseum, adjacent to the Trade Mart on High Street.

Speakers, bands and cheerleaders are expected at the events.
