Gabrielle Theresa Gilbert Bolls
BAMBURG, Germany — Services for Gabrielle Theresa Gilbert Bolls, infant daughter of Elnora Bolls and Alvin Winston of Bamburg, Germany, were at 11 this morning at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Williams Funeral Service.
The baby died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007, in Bamburg.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her maternal grandparents, Perry Gilbert and Yolanda Gilbert, both of Vicksburg.
James Chriss
James Chriss died today, Sept. 12, 2007, at River Region Medical Center. He was 87.
He was a member of Pleasant Valley M.B. Church.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Chriss of Vicksburg; four daughters, Deloris Lott, Emma Swartz, Gladys Ross and Mary Turner, all of Vicksburg; four sons, Carl Smith of Vicksburg, Caldonia Dilworth of Grand Rapids, Mich., Charles Chriss of Detroit and Samuel Brown of Baton Rouge; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and other relatives, including Bertha Mixon, Florine Brinkley, Leon Wheatley, Jessie Miller and the Rev. Douglas Brown family.
Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Joyce Ann Hollingsworth
Joyce Ann Hollingsworth died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007, at River Region Medical Center. She was 63.
Born in Natchez, Mrs. Hollingsworth had lived in Liberty, Miss., for many years. She had been a resident of Vicksburg for the past four years. She attended Solid Rock United Pentecostal Church.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, E.O. Hollingsworth and Fred A. James Jr.
She is survived by six sons, Anthony James, Walter A. “Butch” James and Prentisss D. “Coon” James, all of Vicksburg, Fred E. James of Charlestown, Ind., Waylon Carrol James of Denham Springs, La., and Garry James of Pensacola, Fla.; four daughters, Tina Johnson of Canton, Effie Ann James Whitehead of Vicksburg, Gislea L. “Dee” Delanoix of Spring, Texas, and Christy Gayle Morgan of Meridian; three sisters, Wanda Callen of Vicksburg, Juanita Scott of Tampa and Darlene Smith of Vidalia, La.; one brother, Marvin Dampier of Vicksburg; and 20 grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Talbert officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. Thursday at Natchez City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Thursday until the hour of service.
Roy H. Woody III
ATLANTA — Roy H. Woody III died Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, at his home in Atlanta. He was 61.
Mr. Woody was born Dec. 16, 1945, in Vicksburg. He graduated from St. Aloysius High School. He later received a bachelor’s degree from University of Mississippi and a juris doctor from University of Mississippi Law School. Upon graduation, he moved to Atlanta where he began working for the Internal Revenue Service. He was a member of the Catholic church.
He is survived by three sons, Roy H. Woody IV, Richard Clayton and James Christian Woody, all of Atlanta; a daughter, Courtney Lynn Arasi of Atlanta; his father, Roy Woody Jr. of Hattiesburg; a brother, Mike Woody of Hattiesburg; and three grandchildren, Mary Alice Woody, Ethan Clayton and Margaret Woody, all of Atlanta.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Glenwood Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Patrick Farrell officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
