Willie Andrew Smith

Services for Willie Andrew Smith will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Burial will follow under the direction of Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11 a.m. Sunday until the service.

Mr. Smith died Monday, Sept. 17, 2007, at the G.V. “Sonny” Montgomery Veterans Administration Medical Center in Jackson. He was 57.

Mr. Smith was born in the Champaign/Urbana, Ill., area. He attended Rosa A. Temple High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Jessie Smith; one brother, Walter Smith; and one sister, Evelyn Goff.

He is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Smith of Atlanta; a son, Brian Bland of Vicksburg; one brother, Charles Caston of Champaign/Urbana; three sisters, Charla Green of Memphis, Stella Harvey of Champaign/Urbana and Jessi Green of Houston, Texas; his companion, Wanda Clark of Vicksburg; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives, including Manetta Walker of Edwards.
