Addie Carter

Addie Carter died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007, at her home in Vicksburg. She was 84.

Mrs. Carter was a member of King Solomon Baptist Church. She was retired.

She is survived by her son, Robert Carter of Phoenix, Ariz.; and a daughter, Kathy Carter of Vicksburg.

Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Zona Pearl Chunn Cole

BASTROP, La. — Zona Pearl Chunn Cole died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007. She was 90.

A homemaker, Mrs. Cole lived in Vicksburg but was a former resident of Bastrop.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Golden Funeral Home in Bastrop. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Bastrop.

Visitation will be from 5 until 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Sarah Katherine Nieto

WILMINGTON, N.C. — Sarah Katherine Nieto, the infant daughter of Rudolph “Rudy” and Allison Price Nieto of Wilmington, N.C., died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007, as the result of an automobile accident near Utica.

In addition to her parents, Sarah is survived by a sister, Whitney Leigh Nieto; and her grandparents, Richard and Susan Price of Vicksburg, and Mike and Sandy Nieto of Mandeville, La.

A service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Bovina with the Revs. Blair Both, rector of the Church of the Servant in Wilmington, and Michael Nation, rector of the Church of the Holy Trinity, Episcopal, in Vicksburg, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Alban’s Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Sarah Katherine Nieto Memorial Fund, c/o Church of the Servant, 4925 Oriole Drive, Wilmington, NC 28403 or the local chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD).

Sadie White

Sadie White died Friday, Oct. 19, 2007, at Trinity Medical Center in Carrollton, Texas. She was 96.

Mrs. White was a homemaker and a member of Travelers Rest Baptist Church, where she was a member of the choir and Mission Ministry.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore White; parents, Wess and Mary Jane Holmes; sisters, Ruby Claiborne, Mary Moore, Inez Murphy, Clara Bailey and Dorothy Holmes; and brothers, Wesley Holmes and Dillard Holmes.

Survivors include her daughter, Gladys Holmes of Jackson; granddaughter, Johnnjalyn Jones (James) of Carrollton, Texas; great-granddaughter, Courtney Jones of Carrollton; sister, Kate Purnell of Winona; brothers, Herbert Holmes, Joseph Holmes and Cade Holmes, all of Detroit, Mich., and Jamie Holmes of Toledo, Ohio; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Travelers Rest Baptist Church with the Rev. Thomas Benard officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Thursday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.
