Ralph Dering Hunt Jr.

Ralph Dering “Spud” Hunt Jr. died Monday, Dec. 3, 2007, at his home. He was 56.

Mr. Hunt was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth Cousins Hunt and Ralph Dering Hunt Sr.; two sisters, Alice Cousins Sewell and Etta Jean Cousins; and five brothers, James H. Cousins, Ralph Allen Cousins, Paul Joseph Cousins, Walter Scott Cousins and Curtis Alvin Cousins.

Survivors include three brothers, Frank Cousins of Redwood, Henry Cousins of New Orleans and Wilburn Cousins of Poplarville; and two sisters, Marjorie Cousins of New Orleans and Lucille Keller of Ponchatoula, La.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Northside Baptist Church with Gene Jacks officiating.

Visitation will be at the church Thursday from 10 a.m. until the service.

Glenwood Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Elizabeth Ware

Elizabeth Ware died Monday, Dec. 3, 2007, at Promise Specialty Hospital. She was 87.

Ms. Ware was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mamie Ware; a son, James Ware; and four brothers, Eddie Ware, John Henry Ware, Willie Ware and Jessie Harris.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Ware and Gloria Ware, both of Vicksburg; a son, Robert Ware Sr. of Vicksburg; three brothers, Johnny Ware of Dallas, Ales Ware of Chicago and Ray Ware of Kingston, N.C.; two sisters, Ida Price and Mary Handy of Vicksburg; 30 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives, including Alisha Roberson, Alice Ware, Lewis Wilkes and Lucille Ross.

Robbins Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
