Michael J. Watson

Michael J. Watson died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2007, at River Region Medical Center. He was 21.

Mr. Watson was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He graduated in 2004 from Vicksburg High School, where he received the MAAC Graduate Award, Homework Network Tutor Award, Center Stage Survivor Award and scholarships. He was employed as a hotel clerk at Rainbow Casino.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Nathan Watson Sr. and Mable Watson.

He is survived by his parents, Joseph and Regina Watson, both of Vicksburg; a brother, Kendrick Phillips of Vicksburg; a sister, Yolanda Watson of Vicksburg; maternal grandparents, Norvoll and Florine Beacham of Vicksburg; maternal great-grandmother, Freddie Beacham of Vicksburg; and other relatives and friends, including Erianna Demetrius Gibbs of Vicksburg.

Williams Funeral Service has charge of arrangements.

Robert L. White

HERMANVILLE — Robert L. White died Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, at his home in Hermanville. He was 77.

Mr. White was preceded in death by his parents, T.J. and Molly Harris-White; eight sisters, Everlean Johnson, Emma Harris, Gusta Harris, Mary Harris, Ellen Harris, Lula Mae Harris, Freddie B. Harris and Augusta Pearl Harris; and two brothers, Andrew Johnson and Lonnie Harris.

He is survived by a brother, Johnny “Dick” Shakey of Hermanville; his caregiver and sister-in-law, Lou Ella Johnson of Hermanville; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Hermanville with the Rev. Johnnie Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Grove Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 until 6 today at Thompson Funeral Home in Port Gibson and Wednesday at the church from 1 p.m. until the service.
