Shooting on Ethel jails Alma Street man|[02/07/08]

A Wednesday afternoon shooting landed a Vicksburg man in jail this morning, police said.
Jonathan Dewayne Woodson, 27, 2625 Alma St., surrendered at the Vicksburg Police Department at 12:26 a.m. and was charged with aggravated assault, said Vicksburg Police Sgt. Sandra Williams. The shooting, in which no one was injured, occurred in the 1500 block of Ethel Street. Police responded to reports of the shooting at 2:02 p.m., about 10 hours prior to the arrest.
Woodson remained in the Warren County Jail this morning on a $10,000 bond.
County man jailed in theft of hydrocodone
A Warren County man faces burglary charges after his arrest Wednesday.
Bryan Russell, 28, 6869 Oak Ridge Road, was arrested at about 11:30 a.m. at Clay and Cherry streets, said Warren County Sheriff’s Deputy Chris Satcher. According to Satcher, the offense took place at a home in the 6800 block of Oak Ridge Road, from which Russell is accused of taking a bottle of hydrocodone pills and about $200.
He remained in the Warren County Jail on a $5,000 bond this morning.
Copper, pit bulls prove popular with thieves
Copper wire and pit bull puppies were reported stolen in Warren County Wednesday.
Stolen from a field along the west side of U.S. 61 North was 250 feet of seven-strand copper wire, which was valued at $800. The Warren County Sheriff’s Department received the report at 9:43 a.m.
At 7:51 p.m., six 2-week-old pit bulls were reported stolen from a home in the 100 block of Bovina Cutoff Road. The pups were valued at $150 each.
A residential burglary in the 5000 block of Bovina Cutoff Road was reported at 5:43 p.m. Missing was a 32-inch TV and a PlayStation 2 game. The total value was listed at $800.
