Flag honors memory of WWII veteran|[02/15/08]

The local Veterans of Foreign War Post 2572 has been presented with a burial flag in memory of John Francis Dundas, who died Nov. 13, 2004, at the age of 84. The flag will be flown in honor of his service with the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.
Dundas was born in Vicksburg in 1920 and graduated from Tallulah High School in 1938. He joined the Marines in 1942 and served in the Pacific Theater from 1944 to 1945. His service included time in the Mariana Islands and Iwo Jima. He also participated in air attacks on Japan. He was discharged from the Marines in 1945 with the rank of technical sergeant.
The flag was presented to George Cronia, Pat Bonner and post commander Grady Edwards.
