Minnie L. Moore
Minnie L. Moore died Monday, Feb. 18, 2008, at her home in Brandon. She was 88.
Born in Warren County, she was the daughter of the late Nancy Eliza McGuffie Dillon and Dennis L. Dillon. Mrs. Moore was a longtime resident of Warren County, moving to Pearl in 1983 and to Brandon in 2006. For a number of years, she was a nurse with the Vicksburg Infirmary and, in later years, was associated with the Martin-Feurst Clinic.
Mrs. Moore was a member of the Pearl United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert William Moore; a daughter, Carrie Mae Pearson; and a brother, Robert Dillon.
She is survived by four daughters, Betty Ann Pearson and her husband, Billy, of Pearl, Robbie Franklin and her husband, Benny, of Lenoir, N.C., and Mildred Baylot and her husband, James, and Nancy Kinstley and her husband, the Rev. Art Kinstley, all of Brandon; one son, Robert William Moore Jr. of Brandon; 28 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Riles Funeral Home with the Revs. Art Kinstley, Brian Gordon and Todd Sanders officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Pearson, Mike Crotwell, Archie Kinstley, Kevin Baylot, Paul Megginson and Dale Lofton.
Honorary pallbearer will be Paul Barrett.
Memorials may be made to the Pearl United Methodist Church, 226 S. Pearson Road, Pearl, MS 39207.
Donnie Eaker
TALLULAH — Donnie Eaker died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. He was 56.
Mr. Eaker was born in Delhi and had lived in Madison Parish for most of his life. He was a farmer.
Survivors include one brother, Sonny Eaker of Newnan, Ga.; one sister, Martha Mitchell of Bolivar, Tenn; two nephews and three nieces.
Services will be at 3 today at Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah with the Rev. John W. Rushing officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home of Tallulah. Visitation will be an hour before the service at the funeral home.
Wayne B. Pittman
BEAUMONT, Miss. — Wayne B. Pittman died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008, at his home in Beaumont, Miss. He was 73.
He was a construction contractor.
Mr. Pittman was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Fannie Pittman; brothers, Horace Pittman, Alonzo Pittman and Dudley Pittman; sisters, Judy Dees, Sue Putt and Betty Sexton.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Ann Pittman of Beaumont; two sons, David Pittman of Clinton and Jeff Pittman of Beaumont; two daughters, Sandra Parker and Karen Lott, both of Beaumont; three sisters, Brenda Deakle, Trudie Westmoreland and Wanda Lott, all of Beaumont; four brothers, Henry Pittman of Beaumont, Reuben Pittman of Summerfield, Fla., Phil Pittman and Joe Pittman both of Beaumont; and 10 grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 today at Beaumont Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Overstreet. Visitation was from 10 until the service at Jones and Sons Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Lavelle Parker, Tim Lott, Marvin Freeman, Vernon Patterson, Reggie Lee, Jeffery Pittman.
Honorary pallbearer will be Joe Pittman.
