Dewayne E. Palmer
Dewayne E. Palmer died Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, at River Region Medical Center. He was 42.
Mr. Palmer was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ethel Brown and John Ross; and paternal grandparents, Willie and Regina England.
Survivors include his parents, Johnny England and Millard Palmer Cosby; one brother, Halbert Cosby of Vicksburg; four sisters, Constance McCoy, Paula Williams and Angela Palmer, all of Vicksburg, and Hope Williams of Atlanta.
Williams Funeral Service has charge of the arrangements.
Ervin Smith Jr.
Ervin Smith Jr. died Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, at Covenant Health and Rehab of Vicksburg. He was 73
Mr. Smith was a member of Mount Zion Church No. 4.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary L. Smith; one daughter, Beverly O’Neal; and his parents, Ervin Smith Sr. and Millie F. Smith.
Survivors include seven sons, Albert Sweet II, Jimmy Sweet, Raymond Sweet, Larry Sweet and Anthony Sweet, all of Vicksburg, the Rev. Michael Sweet of Jackson and Ervin Sweet of Tupelo; five daughters, Dorothy Felix, Vanessa Thompson, Denise Williams and Debra Taylor, all of Vicksburg, and Mary “Tina” Brown of Shreveport; two brothers, Henry Smith of Vicksburg and Charles Smith of Chicago; three sisters, Rose Mary Smith and Ethel Mae Hughes, both of Vicksburg, and Lady Mae Smith of Seattle; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Eula L. Wilkins
TALLULAH — Eula L. Wilkins died Saturday, March 1, 2008, at Madison Parish Hospital in Tallulah. She was 92.
Mrs. Wilkins was born in Mischner, La., to L.J. and Eliza Land. She had been a member of First United Methodist Church in Tallulah since 1932 and was a member of the Women’s Guild and the church choir. She was a church greeter and a participant in church dramas.
Mrs. Wlikins was preceded in death by her husband, Luke A. Wilkins; and a daughter, Sue Wilkins Laminack.
Survivors include two sons, Johnny Wilkins and Jimmy Wilkins, both of Tallulah; one daughter, Lou Ann Jones of Tallulah; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Services for Mrs. Wilkins will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church in Tallulah with the Revs. Jean Foreman, the Rev. Michael Jones and her son Johnny Wilkins officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church in Tallulah or a charity of choice.
