Vicksburg artist Lesley Silver will have two pieces of art featured in the Meridian Museum of Art 2008 Bi-State Art Competition exhibit through April 12.

The awards reception for the competition is Saturday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Meridian Museum of Art, 628 25th Ave. in downtown Meridian.

The annual bi-state competition is designed to showcase contemporary artists in Mississippi and Alabama.

From nearly 250 works entered in this year’s competition, the 35th annual, only 68 pieces from 47 artists have been accepted for the exhibit and competition. Silver is the only Vicksburg artist featured in the competition.
