Billie Jean Bell
Billie Jean Bell died Tuesday, April 15, 2008, in Vicksburg. She was 80.
A native and lifelong resident of Vicksburg, Miss Bell was the daughter of the late Eldridge Thomas and Vera Flanagan Bell.
She is survived by a brother, E.T. Bell Jr. of Slidell, La.; a sister, Ruth Bell Green of Vicksburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Chan Osborn de Anaya officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jay Ramsey, Key Ramsey, Skeeter Bell, Chris Bell, Joel Langford and Chaz Ramsey.
Eula Lee Cleveland
PORT GIBSON — Eula Lee Cleveland, a lifelong resident of Port Gibson, died Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at the age of 91.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Cleveland; her parents, Albert and Elizabeth Housley; and a brother, Rowan Housley.
She loved being a homemaker and being a flower gardener. She was a member of Port Gibson United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Sydnette Russum and husband, George; a granddaughter, Elaine Ramirez and husband Eric; and several nieces.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today, April 17, 2008, at Glenwood Funeral Home in Port Gibson with the Revs. Michael Herrin and David Harrison officiating. Burial will follow at Wintergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until the hour of the service.
Pallbearers will be Charlie McCaa, Calvin Jackson, Bill Case, Dean Strittman, Will Cranfield, Sonny Ellis and Ike Coleman.
Memorials may be made to Port Gibson Methodist Church or to Wintergreen Cemetery.
James Mark Hollowell
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — James Mark Hollowell died Sunday, April 13, 2008, in Huntsville, Ala. He was 45.
Mark was a native of Natchez and was a member of Washington Baptist Church in Washington, Miss. He had been a resident of Huntsville in recent years.
Throughout his life, Mark had been an avid outdoorsman. From riding ATVs along the banks of the Mississippi River and hunting deer and squirrel in the Homochitto National Forest to helping his brothers coach Little League baseball, Mark loved being outdoors and around people. Mark also spent numerous years working as a painter in Natchez and considered it a privilege to have worked on many of the pre-Civil War era antebellum homes in the area.
His father, James Freeman Hollowell, grandfather Willie Ray Sasser and niece Emily Hollowell preceded Mark in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Katy Huff-Hollowell of Huntsville; a son, Jeremy Wallace of Huntsville; his mother, Martha Hollowell of Vicksburg; his grandmother, Susan Sasser of Vicksburg; three brothers, Donnie Hollowell of Natchez, David Hollowell of Vicksburg and John “Rusty” Hollowell of Purvis; and one sister, Susan Hollowell of Vicksburg. Nieces and nephews include Greg Hollowell, Jay Hollowell, Drew Hollowell, Morgan Hollowell, Daniel Hollowell, Eric Hollowell, Tyler Hollowell, J.D. Hollowell, Elijah Hollowell and Michael Hollowell.
A memorial service will be in the chapel at Laird’s Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2008. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m.

Frances Long
PRENTISS — Frances Long died Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg. She was 88.
Mrs. Long was born in Lawrence County to Kirby and Willie Nelson Bass and had lived in Prentiss since 1985. A homemaker, she was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Vicksburg.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carlyle Long; and one sister.
She is survived by three daughters, Jane Burns and Rose Sanders, both of Prentiss, and Susan Fleharty of Koloa Kauai, Hawaii; two brothers, Billy Bass of Silver Creek and Johnny Bass of Vicksburg; and four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Saulters-Moore Funeral Home in Prentiss. Burial will be at 3 p.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Friday until the service at the funeral home.
Patsy Hebert McCloskey
SATELLITE BEACH, Fla. — Services for Patsy Hebert “Pat” McCloskey were Feb. 21 at Holy Apostles Episcopal Church in Satellite Beach, Fla. Entombment was at Florida Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. McCloskey died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at her home in Satellite Beach. She was 72.
Mrs. McCloskey was born in Houma, La., to Chelsea and Lizzie Hebert. She attended Holy Apostles Episcopal Church in Satellite Beach. She was a former Vicksburg resident.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Charles Stuart McCloskey Jr.; one daughter, Karen Lynn McCloskey; one son, Charles Stuart McCloskey III; a brother, Chelsea Joseph Hebert; a sister, Louise Fortson; and two grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or a favorite charity.
