In arrests made by the Vicksburg Police Department Friday afternoon:

Steve Baker, 30, 2225 Letitia St., was picked up at 5:45 at 148 Elizabeth Circle and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. He was released from the Warren County Jail on $2,500 bond.

At 5:05, Lashanda Jackson, 35, 2008 Miltary Ave., was arrested and charged with embezzlement. She was released from the Warren County Jail on $5,000 bond.

COURT REPORT * From Staff ReportsOne says guilty in circuit courtIn the Warren County Circuit Court during the week that ended Friday, Michael Anthony Russell, 36, 600 Adams St., pleaded guilty to three charges of selling a controlled substance.

He was sentenced by Circuit Judge Frank Vollor to 12 years in prison.

Russell was also ordered to pay $312.50 in court costs and assessments.

His sentencing stems from two offenses Oct. 17-18, 2007, at Kentucky Fried Chicken at 3144 Indiana Ave., and a third offense, Nov. 6, 2007, at Sun Koon Restaurant, 3041 N. Frontage Road.
