CRIME * From Staff Reports

A Vicksburg teen-ager was treated and released from River Region Medical Center early Saturday after being wounded in an apparent random shooting at a county bar.

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace, who did not identify the teen because the investigation could lead to additional criminal charges, said another man was arrested, but on misdemeanor charges and was not charged with shooting the teen.

He was identified only as a 27-year-old local man who apparently was randomly shooting. The man was charged with exhibiting a firearm in a deadly manner and placing people in fear by discharging a weapon.

Pace said investigators had not been able to confirm whether the 27-year-old fired the shot that injured the teen, who was shot in the buttocks.

Pace said deputies heard shots being fired when they arrived at K&B’s Lounge on Greenhill Road, off U.S. 80, at about 2 a.m., after the teen went by private vehicle to the hospital and deputies were called.

Pace said the investigation would continue into the shooting, the shots being fired and the teen’s being at the bar.

The shooting occurred at about 1:15 a.m.

Will Hull, 43, 4901 Gibson Road, was released on $5,000 bond after being picked up by Vicksburg Police at 6:27 a.m. in the 2700 block of Oak Street.
