A Vicksburg man was arrested Wednesday and charged with shooting his stepson, police said.
Willie T. Clark, 63, 3609 Washington St., was taken into custody at about 6:30 p.m. at his home, Vicksburg Police Lt. Bobby Stewart said. Police had responded to the home for reports of gunfire.
Shot once in the left leg was Jeremy Lindsey, 20, who lived with Clark, Stewart said. He was treated and released from River Region Medical Center.
Stewart said the two men argued and physically fought before Clark retrieved the gun and shot at his stepson.
Clark was at the house when police arrived, Stewart said. Two other people at the house were not involved or injured, he said.
Charged with aggravated domestic violence, Clark was in the Issaquena County Jail this morning on a $25,000 bond.
City man charged with statutory rape
A Vicksburg man was arrested Wednesday and charged with having sex with a 15-year-old girl.
Torrey Smith, 22, 2228 Grove St. Apt. 10, surrendered at the Vicksburg Police Department at 1:57 p.m., Lt. Bobby Stewart said. Smith was charged with statutory rape.
Smith’s arrest stems from an incident reported Oct. 8, Stewart said.
He was released from the Warren County Jail after posting a $20,000 bond.
Car reported stolen on South Frontage
A vehicle parked on South Frontage Road was reported stolen Wednesday, police said.
At 1:29 p.m., a burgundy 1991 Honda Accord was reported missing from the 1400 block of the road, Vicksburg Police Lt. Bobby Stewart said. The vehicle’s Mississippi tag number is 068WBX.
$2,000 guitar missing from Washington home
A guitar was reported stolen in the city Wednesday, police said.
At 7:45 p.m., a Washburn electric guitar valued at $2,000 was reported missing from a home in the 4100 block of Washington Street, Vicksburg Police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.
Two women out on bond after drug-related arrests
Two Vicksburg women were arrested on drug-related charges Tuesday by Warren County deputies.
Marion Johnson, 46, and Joann Johnson, 37, both of 320 Kirkland Road, were arrested Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. on a charge of possessing a precursor to manufacture a controlled substance.
Each was released from the Warren County Jail on a $2,500 bond.
