Earla B. Burks died Sunday, June 8, 2008, at River Region Medical Center. He was 77.

Mr. Burks was retired from Cooper Lighting.

Michael Keith Gaskin

Michael Keith Gaskin died Thursday, June 5, 2008, at River Region Medical Center. He was 44.

Mr. Gaskin was a self-employed roofer. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Emma Lee Gaskin; and his grandparents, Edward Sr. and Alberta Gaskin and George and Fannie Mae Washington.

Survivors include his father, Edward Lee Gaskin Jr. of Vicksburg; three brothers, Edward Gaskin, Eddie James Maniel and Lonnie Maniel, all of Vicksburg; one sister, Barbara Maniel of Vicksburg; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Robbins Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Georgia Lee Simpson

Georgia Lee Simpson died Sunday, June 8, 2008, at Promise Hospital of Vicksburg. She was 82.

A homemaker, Mrs. Simpson was a member of Mount Alban M.B. Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Early Simpson Sr.; one stepson, Early Simpson Jr.; and her parents, Tony and Bessie Havard Durman.

She is survived by one daughter, Eva Grace Carter of Vicksburg; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives, including Sandy Carter of Vicksburg.
