Georgia man jailed for drug possession|[06/17/08]

A Georgia man was arrested by Vicksburg police Monday on Interstate 20 and charged with drug possession.Rondal Morrison, 33, 2405 Athens Highway, Elberton, Ga., was picked up by authorities after a traffic stop near Indiana Avenue, Vicksburg Police Lt. Bobby Stewart said. During the stop, authorities found Morrison to be in possession of methamphetamine.Morrison remained in the Warren County Jail this morning on $15,000 bond.

Toyota reported stolen from home on WashingtonA vehicle was reported stolen from a residence on Washington Street Monday, Vicksburg Police said.At 2:20 p.m., a green 1991 Toyota Tercel was reported stolen from the 3600 block. Lt. Bobby Stewart said this morning that the vehicle’s tag information was not available.

City, county burglaries see pistol, cash missingA pistol, cash and car stereo equipment were reported stolen in three burglaries in the city and county Monday.At 12:03 p.m., the Warren County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a pistol being taken from a vehicle parked in the 400 block of Gibson Road Circle.A laptop computer, a camera, a backpack and $850 were reported stolen from a vehicle parked at the T&S Tunnel Express car wash on County Lane near U.S. 61 North. The total value of the missing items was $3,190. The sheriff’s department received the report at 3:37 p.m.At 7:50 p.m., a Pioneer CD player, a pair of P2 10-inch sub woofers and a 1200 Watt Sony amplifier were reported stolen from a 1998 Dodge Stratus parked in the 1200 block of South Street. The total value was listed at $340. Vicksburg Police Lt. Bobby Stewart said the car was entered through a broken window.
