A 16-year-old Vicksburg boy was treated and released from River Region Medical Center after a drive-by shooting Thursday.

The victim was walking through Elizabeth Circle at 9:53 p.m., on the way to see a friend, Vicksburg Police Lt. Bobby Stewart said, when a vehicle passed and one shot was fired. The victim was hit in the left arm.

The teen was not a resident of Elizabeth Circle, Stewart said.

Truck stolen in Texas found in Vicksburg lot

A 2006 Chevrolet 1500 pickup reported stolen in Texas on May 18 was found abandoned in the parking lot of The Home Depot at 10:35 a.m. Thursday, records show.

The truck was in police custody pending pickup by the owners.

County man charged with forgery, fraud

A Vicksburg man was arrested Thursday on forgery and fraud charges.

Thomas C. Parker, 2501 Culkin Road Apt. 4, was arrested in the 500 block of Fairways Drive at 7:30 p.m. records show. He was charged with uttering a forgery and credit card fraud.

He has been released on a $7,000 bond.

Three men injured in wreck on 61 North

Two men from Vicksburg and one from Jackson were treated and released from River Region Medical Center after a twovehicle wreck on U.S. 61 North early Thursday.

Albert Short, 45, Leon Handy, 58, and Johnny Knight, 43, of Jackson, were involved in a rear-end collision in the 1400 block of U.S. 61 North, according to ambulance records from the Vicksburg Fire Department.

The wreck was investigated by the Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol, from whom no further information was available.
