July 7 is the deadline for Warren County residents to apply for state and federal disaster aid stemming from spring flooding and severe storms on March 20. To register with FEMA for assistance call 1-800-621-3362, or visit www.fema.gov online. Residents who were affected by flooding are encouraged to register whether they have insurance or not. Federal disaster aid may cover expenses insurance policies do not cover, or may help those who are underinsured.

More than 500 people have already signed up from Warren, Wilkinson, Washington and Bolivar Counties, with more than $2 million in disaster aid and home loans approved. One hundred forty-three applicants in Warren County have received $445,654 in housing assistance from FEMA, while another $139,931 has been collected for other needs assistance.
