Man from Vicksburg injured in crash into farm equipment|[06/30/08]

A Vicksburg man was airlifted to University Medical Center in Jackson following a wreck in which his vehicle ran into a piece of farm equipment in a field.

Raul Sanchez, 44, 14640 Mississippi 465, was in the 3000 block of Eagle Lake Shore Road at about 10 p.m. Saturday when he lost control of his 1996 Ford Ranger, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said.

He was taken to River Region Medical Center before being taken to UMC.

Sanchez remained at UMC in critical condition, a spokesman for the hospital said this morning.

City man faces third DUI charge

A Vicksburg man was arrested this weekend and charged with his third offense of driving under the influence, police said.

Cordell Harris, 29, 208 Linda Drive, was picked up at 2:27 p.m. Sunday following a traffic stop at Grange Hall and U.S. 61 South, Vicksburg Police Lt. Bobby Stewart said. Harris was in the Warren County Jail without bond pending his initial hearing in Vicksburg Municipal Court.

Two motel occupants robbed in Claiborne County

A robbery was reported at the Grand Gulf Inn, 2017 U.S. 61 North in Port Gibson, on Friday.

Two people coerced a male occupant and a female occupant into opening their hotel room door, said Carl Fleming, assistant chief deputy for Claiborne County.

After entering the hotel room, the two suspects took a large amount of money from the male occupant, then fled the scene, Fleming said.
