Services for Alma Jones Evans will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Evans died Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula in California. She was 64.

Formerly of Vicksburg, Mrs. Evans was retired from the Monterey Unified School District.

She was preceded in death by her parents, D.J. Jones and Bell Jones; a daughter, Cynthia Ferrias; two brothers, Jerry D. Jones and James Jones Sr.; and her husband, Willie James Evans.

She is survived by one daughter, Sonja Taylor of Sacramento, Calif.; one son, Tony Lee of Santa Cruz, Calif.; two sisters, Ruby Lee Buck of San Francisco, Calif., and Myrtis Silas of Menlo Park, Calif.; four brothers, Melvin Jones of Daly City, Calif., Earnest Jones of San Francisco, Charles Jones of Menlo Park and Robert Jones of Vicksburg; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and other relatives, including Willie Mae Jones, Carrie Bell Jones and members of the Jones and Buck families.

Services for Eugene “Go-Be” Fuller Jr. will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at King David M.B. Church No. 1 with the Rev. A.L. Hines officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery with Jefferson Funeral Home in charge.

Mr. Fuller died Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at his home in Vicksburg. He was 78.

A Vicksburg native, Mr. Fuller served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers mat- sinking unit, and was a member of King David M.B. Church No. 1.

Mr. Fuller was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Fuller Sr. and Mararet Griffin; his stepmother, Elnora Fuller; three sons, Carl Lee Fuller, Jimmie Lee Fuller and Walter Doss; one daughter, Sara Fuller; one brother, Isiah Fuller; and two sisters, Florine Fuller Conway and Willena Buck.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lee Doss Fuller of Vicksburg; five sons, Ronald Lee Fuller of Vallejo, Calif., Tommy Doss of Memphis and Wilbert Doss, John Lee Fuller and Arthur Fuller, all of Vicksburg; five daughters, Theresa F. Harris of Milwaukee, Karen Sue Fuller of Houston, Rosalee Fuller Green of Orange, Texas, and Shelda Doss Thomas and Patricia A. Doss Fuller, both of Vicksburg; a brother, Jack Fuller of Las Vegas; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
