Clear Creek Men’s Senior Golf Association

A tournament is scheduled for Thursday at Black Bear Golf Course in Delhi, La. Tee-time is set for 9 a.m. No blue jeans allowed and collared shirts are required. Lunch will be provided. Sign-up sheets are available at the Clear Creek Golf Course clubhouse in Bovina. Registration deadline is Tuesday.

Clear Creek Ladies Golf Association report

On Wednesday, the ladies of Clear Creek played a game of low net. Top winners were: Karen Carroll, Theresa Ford, Connie Kegerreis and Linda McHann Chip-ins were made by Martha Masteron, Carroll and Linda Moss. On Wednesday, the ladies of Clear Creek will host their monthly retiree’s scramble. Check-in is at 8 a.m., with tee-off at 8:30. This month’s theme is fiesta. Vicksburg High opens practice on Monday

Vicksburg High will have its first football practice on Monday. The ninth-grade team will practice at 2:15 p.m., followed by the varsity at 3:15. For information, call coach Alonzo Stevens at 601-631-2887. The Gators begin the season on Aug. 29 at 8:30 p.m. against South Panola.

Vicksburg Red Sox hosting baseball tryouts

The Vicksburg Red Sox 12-yearolds’ baseball team will be holding tryouts for the 2009 season on Saturday at 10 a.m. on the Delta Field at Halls Ferry Park. Players must turn 12 on or before April 30, 2009. For information, call Bo Magoun at 601-631-0601 or Carl Smith at 601- 638-6017.

Vicksburg Braves hosting baseball tryouts

Fall baseball signups planned

Registration for Vicksburg’s fall baseball season will begin on Monday and last until Sept. 5. Registration is $15 for players in age groups 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-15. Registration forms can be picked up at Just Duett Sports on Halls Ferry Road, The Sports Center on Pemberton Boulevard and at the Vicksburg Parks and Recreation Department on Army Navy Drive.
