Billy W. Raden died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008, at Promise Specialty Hospital of Vicksburg. He was 71.

Born in Lee County, Miss., he was the son of the late Murl Raden and Frances Morgan Raden. He had been a resident of Vicksburg since 1969 and retired from the U.S. Government Corps of Engineers Mat Sinking Unit in 1998 with 42 years of service. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church and the Encouragers Sunday school class.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Wilma Raden of Vicksburg; a daughter, Teresa Mosley and her husband, Kenneth, of Clinton; a son, Rick Graham and his wife, Joy, of Vicksburg; three grandchildren, Allison Spangler of Lancaster, Ohio, Amanda Bakowski of Shreveport, La., and Emily Mosley of Clinton; and a great-granddaughter, Amelia Bakowski of Shreveport.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Elisabeth Mosley.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Riles Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Brian Ivey, pastor of Highland Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Green Acres Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Tuesday until the hour of the service.

Pallbearers will be Marvin Miller, Jim Brannon, Sammie Loper, Carl Dew, Glen Ezell and John Bull.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Encouragers Sunday school class and Dr. John Robert Ford.
