Vehicle shot on Bowmar|[08/12/2008]

A car traveling on Bowmar Avenue Monday night was shot, but no one was injured.

Police Lt. Bobby Stewart said the shot was fired into a 2001 Honda Accord at 11:47 p.m. near Bowmar and Yerger Street.

The vehicle was headed west on Bowmar when the driver heard a loud noise, said Stewart. He continued driving but later found the car had been shot once.

No suspects were identified.

Golf cart recovered after early chase today

At 5:10 this morning police recovered an E-Z-Go Golf Cart after they spotted a man driving it in the 3600 block of Washington Street, Vicksburg Police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

When officers attempted to pull the cart over, the driver fled into the woods. His identity was not known late this morning.

Stewart said the cart is believed to have been stolen, though no report had been filed.

$3,500 reported missing from truck on Walnut

About $3,500 was reported stolen Monday at 8:31 a.m. from a 1997 Ford Explorer in the 900 block of Walnut Street, Vicksburg Police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.
