A “Women in the Outdoors” event will be held Sept. 12-14 at Roosevelt State Park near Morton. Sponsored by the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks and the National Wild Turkey Federation, the event will feature clinics on sporting clays, archery, hiking, fishing, disc golf, Dutch oven cooking and more. The event is open to girls as young as 12, but participants 17 and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The cost of the event is $100 and includes meals, lodging and equipment.
