Shirley Nell White

Shirley Nell White died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, at River Region Medical Center. She was 67.

Born in Drew, Mrs. White had been a resident of Vicksburg for 42 years. She was a graduate of Delta State University and was among the first teachers hired at Hinds Community College’s Vicksburg campus. She was retired from Waterways Experiment Station and was a member of Bowmar Baptist Church.

Mrs. White was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Harrison.

She is survived by her husband, Morgan White of Vicksburg; two daughters, Angela K. White of Vicksburg and Jo Lynn White of Cave Creek, Ariz.; a brother, Jimmy Harrison of Anguilla; a sister, Juanita Lanier of Vicksburg; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and greatnephews. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Lee officiating. Burial will be at Green Acres Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2 until 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Wayne Beard, Jerry Beard, Randy Hale, Kelly White, Lonnie Smith and Kenny Richardson.
