Three held on drug charges after traffic stop|[08/21/2008]

Three Vicksburg men were arrested by police Wednesday evening following a routine traffic stop that turned up a quarter pound of marijuana, said Lt. Bobby Stewart.

The trio was pulled over at 6:52 on South Frontage Road near the Outlets at Vicksburg, and all were charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. Stewart said he believed they were being held on a $10,000 bond each. Arrested were:

Two taken to hospital after car accident

A two vehicle wreck at First East and Cherry streets at 5:50 p.m. Wednesday sent a Vicksburg woman and a Georgia man to the hospital.

Jackie Blanks, 43, 569 Lakeside Drive, and David Able, 55, 301 N. Sixth St., Warner Robins, were both taken to River Region Medical Center.

Blanks was treated and released, and Able was listed in good condition this morning, said a hospital spokesman.
