The August term of the Warren County Grand Jury wrapped up its work Friday with a fourth and final arraignment hearing.

Since being empaneled Monday, grand jurors returned indictments in 79 of the 93 cases they heard. Arrest warrants were issued for those who were indicted, but failed to appear at arraignment hearings. Most of those arraigned face November trial dates.

“The majority of the cases we presented were indicted, so I would say this was a successful grand jury,” said Assistant District Attorney Angela Carpenter. “Our job is to present what we have, but in the end it is the decision of the jury. We have some strong cases, and I am confident we will be able to present them to the best of our ability come trial time.”
