HERMANVILLE — Alice L. Walker died Monday, Aug. 25, 2008, at Claiborne County Hospital. She was 78.

Mrs. Walker was a member of Mountro Grove M.B. Church in Hermanville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Alice White; her husband, Eddie Walker; one son, Earl White; two daughters, Annie Duncan and Alice Ruth Walker; four brothers, Eugene White, Robert White, Jimmy White and Johnny White; and a sister, Johnnie Ruth Smith.

She is survived by two sons, Eddie White of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Artis Walker of Hermanville; one daughter, Willa Kelly of Hermanville; three brothers, Cleo White of Detroit, Charlie White Jr. of Houston, Texas, and Alonzo White of Sugarland, Texas; two sisters, Myrtle Walker and Willie Anna Burrell, both of Hermanville; 12 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives, including Miranda Woodson of Hermanville.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Mountro Grove M.B. Church with the Rev. Horace McBride officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Saturday at Thompson Funeral Home in Port Gibson and Sunday at the church from 1 p.m. until the service.
